The Access Group is a global provider of business management software, founded in 1991 and headquartered in Loughborough, England. Serving over 160,000 organisations across the UK, Ireland, the US and the Asia-Pacific region, the company offers a diverse range of cloud-based solutions encompassing finance, HR, payroll, and across multiple industry sectors. With a workforce of more than 8,000 employees, The Access Group is committed to empowering businesses with innovative tools that enhance their efficiency and productivity.
In 2024, The Access Group announced the launch of their Campus to Career (C2C) programme; a strategic initiative tasked with making Access an employer of choice on the global stage. The programme’s focus is to create exceptional experiences for employees in its Global Operations Centres in Kuala Lumpur and Romania, helping them navigate their careers and contribute to Access’ high performance and inclusive culture.
As a forward-thinking enterprise committed to their employee experience, Access recognised it was of critical importance that they implement a solution to track, mobilise and develop the skills of their large employee base. They required a platform that would enable a living, breathing skill inventory, where employees could create profiles showcasing their skills and in turn be matched to opportunities to develop those skills across the organisation.
As a white-label SaaS solution, Gigged.AI presented an opportunity for Access to very quickly roll out the Skills Intelligence Platform and begin piloting internal mobility in their Romania GOC. Access was attracted to Gigged.AI’s overall cost, which was below competitors’, as well as the product roadmap and functionality.
Having been briefed by Access Global Head of Digital Learning and Platforms, James Richardson, the Gigged.AI team rolled out access to the new white-label platform within a few days. The platform was created with complete branding, skill taxonomy and various levels of access permission including employee, manager and admin, so that the Access team could familiarise themselves with it before rolling out to the wider employee base. In order to drive adoption with employees, Hiring Managers were tasked as ‘Champions’ to ensure the vision for the platform was clear and employees understood the opportunities they would gain access to.
Fast forward to February 2025 and Access now has more than 1600 employees signed up to the Skills Intelligence Platform who are showcasing their skills, experience and interests. Hiring Managers can create internal roles, gigs and secondments that are automatically matched with employees, enabling internal mobility across boundaries of departments and teams. This is allowing Access to drive innovation and create internal operational efficiencies.
James Richardson, Global Head of Digital Learning & Platforms said:
“Gigged.AI’s platform is a simple concept done well. We chose to work with Gigged.AI because we really believe in the vision for the product and bought into their product roadmap, which is already enabling us to drive efficiency and enhance decision-making as part of our Campus to Career (C2C) programme.”
