Data science is an interdisciplinary field of science concerned with the extraction of knowledge from data to aid decision making. A citizen data scientist is someone who uses computer science, statistics, and mathematics in order to gather information from large amounts of data to support proposals for business functionality and management. They are in charge of investigating new data and analysing it to discover patterns and trends, whilst also creating predictive models to gain insights. A data scientist will document any findings, and present it to management so they can understand, interpret, and work towards new strategies and solutions for challenges which may arise.
