Working from home during the pandemic
Similar to nearly everyone in our industry, I have been working from home for a year now. I think we can all agree that the pandemic has changed our view on life and how people expect to work.
Technology is one of the most flexible and customisable environments for remote working. Yet most employees still expect us to travel into an office to do the exact same job as we have been doing from home for a year. The percentage of workers permanently working from home is expected to double in 2021.
Productivity
With this recent change in working most people have started to notice the benefits of working from home (WFH). I personally have noticed an increase in productivity in comparison to what I was like in the office. I find it easier to manage my time and have a better balance throughout the day. Another positive aspect of remote working is what it’s doing for the tech industry. It is opening up opportunities that otherwise wouldn’t have even been considered. Freelancers can take on a gig with a business that is in different cities, countries and sometimes continents. As everything can be done just as efficiently via products such as Microsoft TEAMS or Zoom!. A glassdoor survey found that 50% of employees say they are as or more productive while WFH.
Gigged.AI is no different in addressing the evolution of remote working as we have a work from anywhere policy in place for our team. As well as 90% of the gigs available on our platform, being remote working delivers freelancers and clients the best opportunity to secure top talent/gigs.
